Summer 2012

This summer shows to be a good one already.  Finally I get to breathe after having gotten into St. Kate's PA program.  I feel like I can finally exhale after getting into a program.  If I would have known how difficult this would have been I would have been preparing from day one but I never expected school to be this difficult and competitive.  Most PA's admit that it took them 2 times of applying and interviewing to get in.  I however, did not have to interview twice, luckily this is my only interview I have ever received and I was in.  I am good in an interview situation, just not so good on paper.

The well is finally getting built.  I just sent off a 3,000 dollar check the other day and I'm excited to finally get the pictures back of all the progress.  I am disappointed I wasn't able to travel down there but I'm just happy that they will finally be getting water delivered to their clinic directly.  I do hope to go back to Nicaragua one day and hopefully if I can get it set up with St. Kates I might be able to set up some clinical rotations in the Rivas' Hospital.

It is the end of April and beginning of May and I have just two more months left on my lease.  I haven't been living in my apartment for almost a month now and it doesn't even feel like home, more of a storage unit.  I miss seeing Marie all the time but I love being "home" with Josh.  I finally feel like this is slightly a bit of my home.  I can't wait to be finally in one place and not in two. Plus Josh's house is only 2 miles away from school so that will help a ton!

The MS Walk is this weekend and I'm super excited for it.  Hopefully it won't rain or snow and will be decent outside.  It was cold last year and slightly snowing, not this year fingers crossed.  I'm happy because Josh will be coming down with me to support my family and to finally stay with my family.  I miss home a lot and I miss the new puppy Lucy that my parents got.  I know that times are rough for my family and I just hope that once everything goes through financially on my end I will be able to help my mom with her tuition payments as she is going to begin at in the CNS program at Winona!  I am so happy for her and we will both be graduating Summer of  2014.  My sister will be graduating in May from college and she will be student teaching back home in La Crescent.  I am so proud of her and I can't wait for her wedding in September.

Life is going to be busy these next few months and hopefully there will be a lot of time for fun and relaxing.  I can't wait to cut back from working, I just need to make it through one more grueling month of work, then I will have a more set schedule of part-time only once a week and full-time flexible hours. Life is good and going in a great direction.
